PHS QUARTERLY MEETING

Sunday, November 3.  1-3 PM  Guest speaker & book signing

In Alta California, Nick Neely chronicals his 650-mile trek from San Diego to Pacifica, following the route of the 1769 Spanish Expedition led by Gaspar de Portolá.  Neely grew up in California but realized how little he knew about its history .  For twelve weeks he hiked through both rural and urban California following the route described in the diaries of members of the Expedition. Weaving natural and human history, Alta California relives his adventure and explores the evolution of California and its landscape.
